He married Madeline (Shaughnessy) Doherty May 20, 1950. Madeline was born March 12, 1929. She is the daughter of John (Jack) Shaughnessy and Madeline (Atkinson) Shaughnessy. Ar nDuthchas (Translation: "Our Heritage") Meaning: 'The Destroyer', or 'Obstructive', understood to have been earned in battle.

19 ii. Maureen Theresa (Doherty) Blees was born in Bronx, NY June 26, 1952. She married twice. She married Matthew Thomas Masiello August 3, 1974. Matthew was born in Bronx, NY January 20, 1953.
